Ensuring our homes are safe and comfortable. Helping renters and people on fixed incomes afford their power bills. Building local energy solutions.
These aren’t radical ideas. They’re common sense.
Our Issues
For too long utilities have been allowed to make decisions about our energy system without us. These decisions have centered on making a profit for shareholders and using outdated technology. Energy Democracy is about shifting power back to customers to help drive smarter, long-term decision-making that prioritizes affordability and reliability and makes our energy grid cleaner, safer, and more resilient. There is another way to do business and its time our utilities listened to us.

“I became involved in K4ED because our energy system is run by monopoly utilities, and the public must demand that its interests are better served. The utilities want the PSC to protect their profits by insulating them from the realities of energy insecurity and the crisis posed by climate change. Instead the PSC and the legislature must prioritize the public welfare and protect equity, health, climate and resilience.”
